1915-05-17 – Giosue Galluci is murdered when four to six men enter the shop at 336 East 109th Street and begin shooting. Giosue is hit in the neck and stomach, his son Luca is shot in the stomach. Luca dies the next day and Giosue dies May 21st. Fifteen men are in the coffee shop at the time, mostly friends of Gallucci, some return fire but the shooters escape. More than seven shots are fired in total. Supposed killers are former Galluci bodyguards Genoroso Nazzaro and Tony Romano, and Andrea Ricci associate of the Brooklyn Camorra. Hit allegedly financed by Pellegrino Morano, Coney Island Camorra boss.
